SPANISH PROGRAM IN THE COAST
Province of Manabi, El Carmen sector

Manabí is located about 200 kms west of Quito, on the coastal plains of Ecuador. The town of El Carmen is close to one of Ecuador's most famous ethnic groups, the Tsáchila, locally known as the "Colorados". El Carmen enjoys a tropical climate and is surrounded by extensive banana plantations. Other tropical fruits, such as papaya, babaco, lemon, are also typical of the zone.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES

• Duration of stay: 6 days, 5 nights
• Spanish Classes: 4 hours daily (Monday to Friday)
• Walks of approximately 3 hours to observe banana plantations and the export process
• Trip to see plants and tropical fruits
• Visit to River Minas for fishing and bathing
• Trip to local town to enjoy the delicious coco juice
• Trip to farming zone
• Visit to the resort of Pedernales
• Visits programmed for each day: either by horse or tractor
• Night entertainment: Karaoke
• Games: pool and table football
