In our continual effort to improve and enhance our Spanish
Studies, we are pleased to announce our "YARINA
LODGE" Program. The Program has been designed for
students who wish to learn or improve their knowledge
of the language in the authentic surroundings offered
by the jungle. The lodge is located on a hill in the
midst of the beautiful and |
unexploited
part of the Amazonian basin about one hour upstream
from the town of Coca and one and a half hours from
the Limoncocha Reserve where one can enjoy the unspoiled
primary forest and observe a wide variety of the local
wildlife. |
SUMMARY
OF ACTIVITIES
- Walks
of approximately 4 hours to observe medicinal plants, birds
and animals.

Visit to the Bird Observation Tower (approximately 40 meters
high).
- Observation
of techniques and materials used by the local people for
washing gold.
-
Fishing for piranhas: aprox one-and-half hours. Canoe trip.
-
Practice with Cerbatana or Bodoquera. Approximately one
hour.
-
Night trip in canoe to observe crocodiles, reptiles and
nocturnal birds.
-
Visit to indigenous Quichua family (Samona Yuturi) to learn
customs and traditions.

Night trek: observing nocturnal jungle life.
-
Spanish classes: 4 hours daily (Monday to Friday).
